THE CURSED FRUIT
Astonished passersby will come across a mysterious scene unfolding: three giants masked with hoods and equipped with shovels work together to bury or dig up a huge golden apple, a symbol or knowledge or vice. The blue-skinned figures evoke the friendly cartoon characters The Smurfs, but give off a much more sinister aura. The visual enigma created by the artists suggests the illicit burial or excavation of something precious.

Jean-François Cooke and Pierre Sasseville have been working together since 2000 as Cooke-Sasseville. The Quebec-based duo has taken part in national and international exhibitions and created many monumental public artworks.
