THE MUSEUM OF DEATH

Jack Burman

ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

THE MUSEUM OF DEATH

Housed in a small caravan, the Museum of Death offers a striking journey where mortality becomes tangible. Large-format photographs of corpses — mummified, preserved, or freshly arrived from the morgue — illuminate the darkness of the cramped rooms.

Far from frightening, each sensitive portrait reveals a haunting beauty, a sensuality that blurs the boundary between the living and the dead. Confronting visitors with their own mortality, Jack Burman’s images hover between wonder and dread, leaving a lasting impression of both awe and unease.
